Ecoblast® (Aramco approved), Ferrochrome slag is a excretory product of stainless steel. It is a waste material obtained when High Carbon Ferrochromium Alloy is manufactured. This slag forms as a liquid at 1700°C and consists of the components SiO2, Al2O3 and MgO. Moreover, it contains chrome, ferrous/ferric oxides and CaO. Synthetically produced, the mineral replicates and resembles the physical and chemical properties naturally found in Garnet. The crushed gray material is found to be granular, cubic or angular in shape with several cutting edges. This abrasive has a high resistance to shattering on impact like Garnet, and it results in low dust operations compared to other expendable abrasives.
